Introduction

If an individual wishes to modify thier body to thier liking they should not be judged because of it. In the workplace many employers frown upon body modification. But why? Is it because it's not "normal"? Or is it because they don't know what others will think? Either way I would like for people to accept people with modified bodies. For who they are and what they are capable of rather than what they look like. Why does society look down upon guaged ears and facial piercings? Why? Why do certain religions say no to body modification? There is nothing religion related about getting work done on your body. It's not anti-religious so why say no? Body mod isn't in the bible or any holy text for that matter as something you can't do. If you're not happly with you're body, why live life like that? Live life the way you want to and the way you feel happy with and if that means getting tattoos and piercings then so be it. Don't let anyone tell you how to live or give you guidelines and a set lifestyle. You are your own person and should express yourself as you wish and how you wish. Some express themselves through music, some through paper and pencil, some through paint and canvas. But my paint is metal and ink and my canvas is my body. What about you?

What is Body Modification?

Body modification is any change to the body made to alter the body from it's original state. Some body modification is medically necessary such as reconstructive surgery or prosthetic limbs. Some modifications are done to make people more comfortable with themselves like breast implants and other plastic surgeries. Other mods are simply an art form such as piercings, tattoos and stretching. No matter what body mod will always have it's opposers such as employers, religion and people who are not educated on the subject.

What is Modification Nation?

Modification Nation (Established 2-23-2009) is a body modification group based out of Belleville, Michigan. Here at Modification Nation we have a goal of making society realize that us BM enthusiasts shouldn't be judged on what we look like but rather what we are capable of. Just because we feel the need to express ourselves doesn't mean that we should be out of a job because of the plugs in our ears or the rings in our lips. We express ourselves in a very unique way and they need to realize that. Modification Nation is also helping spread the word of aftercare solutions, information, and sterile shops for tattoos, piercings, and implants alike. If you have any questions, comments, or ideas please feel free to e-mail Korey Wilson (founder) at the e-mail adress below. Also don't forget to sign our guest book. Thank you and have a nice day.
